Many young children in our world have been born with HIV. They urgently need the love and care of a forever family. If you are considering adopting a child who is HIV-positive, this toolkit will prepare and inform you and your family so you can successfully welcome such a child into your home.

This is specifically designed to prepare and inform potential adoptive families about the challenges and blessings in considering adopting a child living with HIV. Each tool presents a hopeful yet realistic look at some of the challenges families may face.

This 55 minute webinar will give viewers an overall presentation and perspective on the HIV pandemic, how it has affected children and families, Bethany’s response, and what factors and issues families should consider (both medical and psychosocial) if they are considering adopting a child who is HIV-positive

Medical Webinar 
This 45 minute webinar is hosted by Dr. Mimi Emig and focuses on the varied medical issues and challenges families will want to be educated on when pursuing the adoption of a child who is HIV-positive.

Psychosocial webinar 

This 60 minute webinar, hosted by Dr. Jill Meade and Janet Nunn, focuses on psychosocial issues families will want to be educated on when pursuing the adoption of a child who is HIV-positive. Also included are some personal stories of teens living with HIV.
