Mission Statement

To assist the Church in reaching this generation with the gospel by equipping Christians around the world to conduct effective Christian camps and conference ministries.

Overview of Ministry Activity

Approximately one-third of the world\'s population--about 2 billion--are children under the age of 15. They represent perhaps the largest unreached people group in the  world. Children in this age range have the most receptive hearts, and Christian camps are the most effective means of reaching them.

Camp brings youth face to face with biblical truth in such a way that their response cannot be neutral--and the fruit is unprecedented. The wonder of camp is that it is removed from the bombardment of secular culture that is often hostile to Christian faith. In this new "temporary community", truth is verbally taught and modeled 24/7. Youth--the most receptive age group--hear about Christ while they observe His character lived out through caring Christian leaders.

Global Outreach Group equips those leaders. They may be church members, missions staff, orphanage workers, or foreign volunteers.

Plans and Goals

Partnering with the local Christian Camping International (CCI) association which serves the CIS and Baltics, Global Outreach Group assists in the training and equipping of some 1,000 indigenous camp staff each year. The training events are state-of-the-ministry.

CCI has some 30 camp-specific published titles in the Russian language:  manuals for every staff position at a camp; games and activities clearly described and fitting the culture; Bible lessons written by camping leaders specifically for camps; and topcs on leadership development.

The Christian Camp Leaders Conference is held each winter in St. Petersburg. Some 300 leaders from 10 countries of the CIS are represented. More than 40 workshops and seminars deal with every aspect of camp operation.

Seven Staff Train Workshops are conducted each spring all across the CIS, equipping local camp staff.
