Fishburn United Methodist Church

Mission Statement

We encourage members of our church to follow God’s command to minister to the poor and destitute and to go into the world to teach others about God’s love.

Our mission is reaching people with the love of Jesus Christ, teaching God’s Word, and sending people, empowered by the Holy Spirit to touch the world.

Overview of Ministry Activity

Our church works with the Mission Society for United Methodists to send support to missionaries who work with Russian Christians to help children.

Fishburn UMC publishes a newsletter written by Charlene Reitz each month.  The letter is called "Keeping in Touch".  Charlene served for one and one-half years in Khabarovsk, Russia from January, 1996 until June, 1998.  Since then, she has continued to write about the ministry of a Methodist Team and several Russian Ministries to orphaned children of the city of Khabarovsk and the surrounding villages. The newsletter is compiled of testimonies of those working in the city.  The news of God\'s work there generates support for two specific ministries.  One, led by Lena Kosykh to the orphanages of the city and the other led by a Russian pastor, Pastor Yuri Stadnik to the homeless of the city and to the unreached native Russians of surrounding villages.

Fishburn UMC is privileged to be a part of helping Children at Risk in Khabarovsk, Russia.
