Washington Wait No More
Right now, more than 1,600 children and youth in Washington foster care are waiting for adoptive families. Washington also has more than 5,000 churches, and God has given clear commands for Christians to take care of His orphan children. Even if you're not called to adopt, we can all do something! So if the command is clear and the need is apparent, why are these kids still waiting? Join Focus on the Family, Seattle's Union Gospel Mission as well as church and adoption leaders from around Washington on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Calvary Christian Assembly. You'll hear more about the kids who are waiting, the process of adoption from foster care and ways you can be involved in supporting adoptive and foster families. In addition, agency and county representatives will be on site to answer questions and help you get started. So come to this city-wide event and explore what the Lord may be asking you to do. Together the body of Christ can ensure that no child in Washington is waiting for someone to call mom or dad. Focus on the Family is a donor-supported Christian ministry committed to helping families thrive. We believe that every child deserves to know the love of a forever family. That's why we're collaborating with adoption agencies, church leaders, and ministry partners to raise awareness of and recruit families for those waiting for permanent families. Through one day events and targeted marketing campaigns, Focus on the Family is highlighting the urgent need for adoptive parents. For too long, these children and youth have been overlooked. But that is changing. God is stirring the hearts of His people to welcome these children and youth into forever homes. To date, over 3,000 families have initiated the process of adoption from foster care as a result of the collaborative efforts of Wait No More. And this is only the beginning.
