Mission Statement

"To extend the Kingdom of God by the application of the truths of Scripture to meet the spiritual, physical and social needs of people in its various fields of operation."

Overview of Ministry Activity

Hope Now was established in 1985 as a vehicle for the evangelist, Vic Jackopson, to engage in missions mainly in Europe. However, though he is still very active in this around the world, the organization has grown especially in the last five years to become a full-fledged missionary agency working mainly in Ukraine and South Africa.

Full and part-time national and international staff and volunteers engage in mission under the organization’s four departments: Evangelism/Church Planting, Children in Need, Health, and Prisons.

Current projects include:

  • Church building in both Ukraine and South Africa
  • Supporting nine state-run orphanages in Ukraine, two Rescue Shelters, and seven of its own cottage homes for homeless orphans
  • Building chapels and churches in Ukrainian prisons
  • Cleft lip and palate program and leukemia program
  • Building a sports complex in the Langa township of South Africa

HOPE NOW has been working in the Cherkassy Oblast of Ukraine for the past 10 years. Its ministry is best described by utilising the first letters of the words, Health, Orphans, Prisons and Evangelism. HOPE.

HEALTH. Hope Now provides children with life threatening diseases or birth abnormalities the opportunity for treatment either within the Ukraine or in the U.K. or U.S.A.  It also provides Cherkassy hospitals with equipment and cooperates with the medical and dental fraternity in providing peripatetic care to villages via its mobile dental/medical unit.

This includes the improvement of the  facilities such as putting in new indoor toilet and washroom s, reroofing, building sports facilities, providing central heating, laundry rooms, kitchens, clothes and winter boots.

Each year camps are run for orphans and the Ukrainian staff visit on a regular basis to spend quality time with the children.
